Who we are

ma2 was established in April 1995, the brainchild of Tony Mills and Steve Howarth – two young, energetic business development specialists with over 40 years’ hands-on experience. Tony and Steve direct the ma2 production with a supporting cast of highly-dedicated professionals and were awarded the prestigious Investors in People status in 2005.

Sharon Gaskell – ACCA

joined the cast of support in ma2’s accounts team in May 1998. Sharon has dedicated herself to company clients and undertakes the total range of all things accountancy, providing a fantastic management accounting service to her corporate clients. Sharon divides her time between work and her young daughter.

Selina Plummer – ACCA

one of our youngest but already experienced cast members who joined the illustrious group in July 2003. Selina, at only 24 is a qualified accountant, ‘acing’ her accountancy exams in 2006. Selina’s special talents lie with company formations, and she manages her portfolio of corporate and personal clients with consummate ease. Selina, our celebrity spotter, is getting married next year.

Alison Tasker

Alison, a highly-organised ‘method’ actor, joined the team in July 2005 and plays the “Queen of Tax Returns” role every January with amazing results. Alison’s role is supplemented with preparation of detailed company accounts and she dabbles most successfully in all matters of taxation and accounting. Alison’s also a Bowling “Queen” in her spare time.

Jacqui Victor-Corrie

the newest member of ma2, joined in September 2006 as Practice Manager and PA to Tony and Steve. Jacqui looks after the smooth running of the administrative side of the Practice as well as driving forward its marketing programme. So, if you’d like to meet us, simply call her and arrange an appointment today.

Catherine Swales

Cathy joined our cast in April 2005, working confidently and steadily through the accountancy maze and specialising in work with Clubs, Associations and not-for-profit organisations as well as concentrating on the accounts of our building and construction industry clients. Cathy juggles a young family, husband and ma2!

Samantha Loughlin

a new addition to the ma2 ‘crew’. Sam has a penchant for estate management taxation matters and brings her highly-tuned eye to their accounts and business processes and joined us in September 2006. Sam’s working hard towards her accountancy exams and gets married next year too.

James Howarth

our payroll, SAGE, banking and invoice expert – a veritable “James of all trades”, became a member of the ma2 cast in June 2005. James’ valued experience in all matters staff, wages and payroll related has provided ma2 with an effective solution to the oft-time consuming processes involved in running a business. James is studying for his final accountancy exams whilst looking after his young daughter – no mean feat!

Steve Howarth – MAAT

director and co-executive producer of ma2, Steve has a natural aptitude for serious number crunching and the ability to swiftly and accurately decipher the best of solutions for clients often within his speciality – the construction and property industry. Steve is a lifelong ‘Seasiders’ supporter – that’s Blackpool Football Club to you and I, a dad and a grand-dad too!

Tony Mills – ACA, MAAT

a director and founding executive producer of the “ma2 Limited” experience, specialises in client business development, life planning and systems implementation and, at 43, brings an energy and individual enthusiasm to accountancy. Tony doesn’t smoke and has recently given up drinking Stella as part of his own “Life Planning” strategy.
